Upcoming Events

Frozen Grapes Meeting - Erie County
Thursday, June 19, 2008, 4:30pm
North Collins Senior Center

Extension and National Grape will be holding a brief meeting to discuss questions growers have regarding damage from the frost in late April. Although we are meeting where the grapes were hit especially hard, folks from the region who also have significant damage are welcome to join us. The discussion will center on viticultural practices and grower questions. We also hope to have Annette Hyman from the Erie County FSA will be there to answer questions.

Mechanical Shoot Positioner Demonstrations:
Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 3PM - William Beckman Vineyard, Avis Drive, Harborcreek, PA
Friday, June 27, 2008 at 8AM - Robert and Dawn Betts Vineyard, Persons Street, Westfield, NY

We will demonstrate a new type of mechanical shoot positioner developed by Michigan State University. Our primary goal will to evaluate the impact of the positioner on fruit quality, and the impact on improving pruning efficiency in the following winter.

These meetings are jointly sponsored by Cooperative Extension and National Grape.
