New Worker Protection Standards Requirements
March 20, 2017New requirements under the federal Worker Protection Standards (WPS) went into effect this year, which impact all farmers. Chris Wainwright, NY Dept of Environmental Conservation, will give a presentation about the new rules, and Dr. David Carlson with Thompson Health will cover the medical exam and respirator fit testing requirements in the WPS rules. Fit testing and medical evaluations will not be provided at this meeting.
This meeting is co-hosted by National Grape Cooperative and the NY Wine Grape Growers, and is open to all Finger Lakes grape growers and their employees. Pesticide credits will be available for this meeting. Registration for credits will begin at 12:30. Late arrivals will not be eligible to receive credits.
